DISPOSAL AT THE BERWICK BOROUGH TEST TRACK RECYCLING AND COMPOST SITE
The Borough of Berwick has been kind enough to continue allowing Salem Township residents to take their brush and leaves to the Test Track Recycling and Compost site.
Their policy for Salem Township Residents is as follows:
Identification is REQUIRED. Name and address will be recorded in a records book as well as the items to be disposed of (Brush/compost). If you do NOT provide an ID (Driver's License), you are not permitted to enter.
Load size will be based on a pick-up trucks' full size (8 foot) bed. The load size on different sized beds is at the discretion of the DPW employee. Charges WILL BE APPLIED for larger loads (see "Charges")
Limbs may not be larger than 8" in diameter
Trees and shrubs are accepted UNLESS they contain root balls with soil and rocks attached
NO WOOD OR LUMBER WILL BE ACCEPTED (e.g. pallets, 2x4's, landscape timbers)
A pick-up truck with an 8' bed will be charged $5.00 for the pick-up load ($10.00 for each additional load)
Pull-behind/Hitch trailers will cost $10.00 UNLESS the truck or SUV pulling the trailer is empty
SUV loads - 1 free load ($5.00 charge for each additional load on the same day)
Car loads - 2 free loads ($5.00 charge for each additional load on the same day)
Tuesdays - April-October 1PM-7PM
Tuesdays - November-March 1PM-5PM
1st Saturday of the month May-November 8AM-Noon
Metal detectors are used and if any metal is found in anything brought in, there is a $50.00 fine.
Dumping anywhere other than the compost site will result in a $300.00 fine.

The site is located just west of the Sewer Plant. Enter by travelling down South Eaton Street and going through the Test Track Park gate. Turn right and go past the Borough Barn. Continue travelling past barn and you will come to the compost site.
